The MONARC MLA3 is a low-profile, axially symmetrical, three-way line array module based on McCauley Sound's MONARC line array technology.

Designed to bridge the gap between the large format MONARC MLA6 and the ultra-compact and portable M.LINE modules, the MLA3 is ideal for operators who need to scale between smaller events and larger productions and value the affordability of a mid-size solution.

Take the MLA3 feature tour, watch an animated demonstration of their riggings system, browse the frequently asked questions, or just read on for a brief overview of the features and benefits of McCauley's MONARC line array technology.

SEAMLESS COVERAGE AND TIGHT PATTERN CONTROL
MONARC MLA3 modules feature an InterCell Summation Aperture. Recognizable as the “V” shaped recess in the center of the cell, this technology effectively combines the array’s mid and high-frequency energy output, creating a distortion-free wavefront. Virtually free of lobing and comb-filtering artifacts, output from a MONARC array will remain vertically uniform and continuous, regardless of splay angle.

Planning coverage has never been easier. MONARC MLA6 modules offer excellent horizontal pattern control, creating completely uniform wavefront that is measurably coherent across the entire usable bandwidth, and exhibits nearly NO drop off out to 90° of the horizontal plane… yet is over -24dB down at 100°. This near-perfect horizontal coverage makes the MONARC family highly predictable and simple to design around.

EFFORTLESS RIGGING
The MONARC MLA3 features the same breakthrough Integrated Rigging System which is made to require NO tools, has NO extra pieces to lose and requires NO HAND LIFTING to fly. This system is so efficient and easy to use, that once on deck, a complete MONARC array can be interconnected and raised, by a single person, in under ten minutes. This rigging system also allows cells to be ground stacked from the bumper for non-flown applications.

DISTORTION FREE MIDRANGE
Full range MONARC cells employ proprietary HX32™ Carbon-Honeycomb Nomex Composite cone drivers to substantially improve midrange tonality and clarity. Specifically engineered for the MONARC family of line array, these midrange specialists practically eliminate harmonic distortion and mid-band phase cancellation… delivering the most natural midrange of any large format P.A.

LIGHTWEIGHT NEODYMNIUM COMPLEMENT
MONARC cells now feature neodymium complements, which dramatically reduces the per-cell weight of the system. The mid-sized format MLA3 weighs in at a mere 145bs.

HEAVY DUTY TRANSDUCERS
MONARC modules overcome the durability and maintenance issues common to others’ line array designs by implementing high power-handling, high-performance McCauley componentry with features like field-serviceable basket assemblies, multiple-spider suspensions, and extremely heat tolerant Inwound 4” voice coils and more.

ULTRA-LOW PROFILE
MONARC technology is designed to be ultra-compact and stay out of sight lines. Inch for inch, module, for module, not only do MONARC series systems have measurably superior SPL capabilities and outperform the competition in terms of clarity and intelligibility, but they will do so in far less vertical space.

VOLUMETRICALLY-LOADED
The MLA3s volumetrically-loaded LF section increases LF efficiency and reduces dependency on sub woofers by extending the usable low frequency response to below 55Hz… reducing and in some applications eliminating the need for sub woofers altogether.

FLY OR STACK OFF THE SAME HARDWARE

MONARC's lightweight fly bumpers double as the base for groundstacking applications. Also, by attaching a castor accessory, fly-bumpers can be quickly converted into carts, giving operators the ability to castor and transport both individual and pre configured groups.

EXTREME WEATHERPROOFING
MONARC cells are completely weatherproofed, using McCauley’s exclusive PROCOAT™ elastomeric treatment. This finishing process makes MONARC systems practically invulnerable to rain, snow, extreme temperatures, and high-humidity conditions... and will protect from common road related damage like scrapes and scuffs.
